You’ll be aware of large-scale cyber breaches hitting the mainstream media.  If you’re unaffected you’ll most likely feel sympathy for those that are, be relieved it wasn’t you and perhaps assume (or hope) you must be doing everything right?

About the speakers

Mark Moore, Director, Cyber Resilience Centre, South West Region

Mark is a serving police Superintendent in the Devon and Cornwall force. After graduating from Exeter University with a language degree, he has worked for over 25 years in policing, spanning a variety of operational roles.

His CV includes periods as a detective, as a leader of sizeable policing areas, and as a firearms commander, with an interest in cyber which recently led to him becoming one of the force ‘digital leaders’. He’s also operated nationally as a lead consultant, helping Forces across the country create sustainable operating models. Latterly, Mark chaired the board of directors of a local Multi-Academy Trust, guiding it through a period of restructure and expansion.

Mark holds an MSc in police leadership and management as well as a postgraduate diploma in the psychology of organisation development.

He's married with two children, is the owner of two dogs and has a passion for Cornish beaches.

Malcolm Orekoya, CISM, CISSP, Chief Technology Officer, NetUtils

Malcolm has been with NetUtils for 10 years. He is involved in managing the support, professional services, and presales consultancy activities of the technical team as well as devising and supporting the overall management strategy and mission. In addition, Malcolm is the technology strategist involved in reviewing the information technology landscape and evaluating innovative and best-of-breed networking and security vendors to work with and bring to our clients as easy-to-consume managed services.

About the South West Cyber Resilience Centre

The South West Regional Cyber Security Centre is part of the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group (NCRCG). It's a "not-for-profit company", funded and supported by the Home Office, Policing and Ambassador partners, set up to strengthen the reach of cyber resilience across the business community.

Until recently, tackling cybercrime within a business was the domain of IT specialists, but, over the past ten years, it has increasingly become a fundamental priority for any business leader. An appropriate and effective cyber strategy needs to be integral to the operation of all organisations, sitting at the heart of how they protect their business, customers, and supply chains.

A coalition of police, government, large employers and organisations and academia, they support smaller organisations in their region and across England and Wales to make their businesses safer, more secure and more resilient.
