2AM Club: CISO's and CIOs on What Matters

The issues that keep technology leaders awake rarely fit neatly into a product category or a single type of conversation. Some need the intimacy of a one-to-one interview. The 2AM Club brings these conversations to life through podcasts, executive interviews, peer panels, webinars, roundtables, research and editorial. Each format can stand alone or become part of a wider programme examining an important technology, leadership or business challenge from several informed perspectives.

Programmes can be sponsored by technology enablers: the vendors developing the technology and the partners advising, implementing and supporting it. Others are created independently by The 2am Club in response to the concerns, experiences and ambitions shared across our community.

Whichever route brings the conversation together, the principle remains the same: this is an opportunity to listen, learn and build valuable relationships, not to deliver a sales pitch.

Podcasts and Executive Interviews

A candid, one-to-one conversation with a CIO, CISO or business leader about the realities behind the job title. These 30-minute discussions go beyond polished success stories to explore the decisions weighing on leaders now, the projects that did not unfold as expected and the lessons that only become obvious afterwards.

Conversations might cover the realities of AI adoption, cyber risk and transformation, but they can also examine career-defining decisions, boardroom pressure, leadership mistakes and the personal demands of carrying responsibility for systems on which an entire organisation depends.

The Big Question:
Live Webinars and Debates

Some technology questions do not have a neat answer, particularly when every available option brings its own compromises.

The Big Question creates space for informed disagreement on issues such as whether AI is delivering measurable value, whether platform consolidation is genuinely reducing costs and whether security controls can coexist with a productive employee experience. Under the Hood brings experienced technology leaders together to examine an emerging technology, operating model or strategic approach without the product demonstrations and marketing decks.

During each session, participants compare expectations with experience: what worked, what proved harder than anticipated and what they would do differently if starting again. From Copilot programmes and identity management to data governance, cloud operations and security transformation, the focus is on helping peers make better-informed decisions before committing budget, time and reputation.

Signals turns the concerns shared across The 2am Club into useful intelligence through surveys, benchmarking, annual studies, executive outlooks and focused briefings. It identifies emerging pressures, changing priorities and the distance between industry claims and operational reality.

The aim is to answer the question many leaders quietly ask themselves: Am I worrying about the right things, and are my peers seeing them too?

Off the Record:
Executive dinners and round-tables

Off the Record is a series of invitation-only peer-led dinners and roundtables held under the Chatham House Rule. CIOs and CISOs can discuss the leadership, board, resilience, governance and strategic challenges that cannot simply be solved by purchasing another piece of software.

These gatherings are deliberately small, creating the trust required for people to test their thinking and discover how others are handling similar pressures.
