WWCS CEO, Marc Lester, explains how Teams can change the way you work

Microsoft is a name that you hear the world over, but WWCS, a Computer Support Consultants based in London explain exactly what impact Microsoft Teams has on their day to day business, for them and their clients.

“The technology that has changed the way we run our business, the way we communicate internally, the way we store our data, and the way we work with our clients is Microsoft Teams.” Explained CEO, Marc Lester.

Most clients are using Teams, without even knowing. Just by using Microsoft Office 365, you have access to Teams and the time and resources you can save your business, simply by learning how to navigate Teams is exponential.

In brief, for clients and contacts who don’t know what Microsoft Teams is, the official blurb is “Microsoft Teams is a unified communication and collaboration platform that combines persistent workplace chat, video meetings, file storage, and application integration” which doesn’t actually mean much… but since lockdown began and working from home became the norm, Microsoft Teams has quite literally saved businesses – and what is so great, it is a new way of working that will have just as much impact when we get back to the office.

WWCS have told us that they, and the majority of their 150+ clients use Microsoft Teams for a variety of purposes. The online tool is a one-stop shop, with access to almost 200 apps that we all use every day, from Zoom to Wikipedia, as well as having it’s own inbuilt video conferencing tool.

“The main features we use, alongside video conferencing is the Stream app, which allows us to record any meetings we have had, as well as chat and file-sharing ability. Microsoft teams even reduced my internal emails by 80% over the last month” noted Marc.

With an array of features, an exciting new addition to Teams that WWCS are working on with their clients, new and old is VOIP. They are able to plug their telephone system in to Microsoft Teams, take calls, transfer, and do everything with desk phones, but through Teams.

“WWCS are integrating thousands of accounts, including ours, to this system and changing the way we do business. It means that now, and when we get back to the office, we won’t be needing landlines and phones on every desk, and our team can make the calls they need and receive the calls they get, straight to their laptop.” Said a client of WWCS, who have seen a significant rise in productivity thanks to the new addition.

WWCS advocate highly for Microsoft Teams, and for businesses, it is starting to seem like a sensible choice. To have one system used for all communications, data storage and collaboration must be a game-changer for any business… just a shame it took a pandemic to realise it!
